VibeDot legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
VibeDot is a private, offline-first mood journal. Your journal stays on your device. This policy explains the limited information that VibeDot and its service providers may process when you use the app or visit this website.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the VibeDot iPhone and iPad app and the VibeDot website. VibeDot is operated by Minh Quan Trinh. If you have a privacy question, contact us at trinhminhquan1211@gmail.com.
2. Your journal data stays on your device
VibeDot does not require an account. Your mood check-ins, reflections, contributing factors, appearance preferences, reminder preferences, and generated recaps are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a VibeDot account system or a server that receives, reads, sells, or shares your journal entries.
We do not send your moods, notes, reflections, journal history, or inferred emotional state to advertising partners. We do not use journal data to target advertising.
VibeDot does not provide its own cloud sync. Device backups are controlled by you and Apple: depending on your device backup settings, iOS may include app data in an Apple device backup. Apple’s handling of backup data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
3. Advertising, consent, and tracking choices
The free version of VibeDot displays advertising through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google and its advertising partners may process technical and advertising-related information to provide, measure, secure, and improve ads. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and ad configuration, this may include:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only where you allow tracking;
- ad views and interactions;
- app performance, diagnostic, and crash information; and
- device and app information used for ad delivery, fraud prevention, analytics, and measurement.
Before requesting tracking permission, VibeDot presents any consent flow required for your region. If iOS asks for tracking permission and you decline, VibeDot does not receive permission to use your device’s advertising identifier for tracking. You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings. Where required, the app also offers Ad privacy options in Settings so you can revisit applicable ad choices.
You can remove advertising by purchasing the one-time Remove Ads in-app purchase. Google’s processing of ad data is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy and its applicable ad controls.
4. Notifications
If you enable a daily reminder, VibeDot asks iOS for notification permission and schedules the reminder locally on your device. You can turn reminders off in VibeDot or iOS Settings. We do not receive the content of your notifications or use notification permission for advertising.
5. Purchases
VibeDot offers an optional, non-consumable Remove Ads purchase through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the transaction and payment information. VibeDot uses StoreKit to confirm whether the purchase is active; we do not collect or store your payment card number.
6. Sharing is your choice
When you choose to share a recap, VibeDot creates it on your device and opens the iOS Share Sheet. The selected destination, such as a messaging app or social network, receives what you choose to share under that service’s own privacy policy. VibeDot does not upload the recap to a VibeDot server before sharing.
7. Website information
We do not ask you to create an account on this website and do not intentionally use website analytics cookies. Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical request information, such as IP address, browser details, and request logs, to deliver and protect the website. The website also loads Google Fonts and a third-party QR-code image service; those providers may receive your IP address when your browser requests those resources.
8. Service providers and international processing
We use service providers only to operate the app and website. These include Apple for app distribution, device-level notifications, backups, and in-app purchases; Google for advertising and consent technology; and website hosting and security providers. Those providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell or license your journal data.
9. Retention and deletion
Because VibeDot does not keep your journal data on our servers, we cannot remotely retrieve or delete it. Your local journal remains on your device until you remove the app or erase the device. Existing device backups may retain a copy until you delete or replace that backup through Apple’s backup controls.
Advertising and website technical data are retained by the relevant provider under its own retention practices. You can use the privacy controls described above and contact the provider directly for requests related to data it processes.
10. Children
VibeDot is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a VibeDot account system because VibeDot does not provide one. If you believe a child has provided information to a third-party service through the app or website, please contact us and the relevant provider.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when VibeDot’s data practices change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting advertising, tracking, or journal-data handling will be reflected in the app and App Store privacy disclosures as required.

This policy describes VibeDot’s current implementation: local-only journal storage, optional local reminders, optional Apple in-app purchase, user-initiated sharing, and Google Mobile Ads in the free app. Review it again before adding analytics, cloud sync, login, HealthKit, or another advertising partner.
